Partners

Our core funding is provided jointly by the Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA), the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and the Scottish Government. Additional funding for individual projects has been won from the European Commission and from the ESRC. 

The research programme of the SLRG is coordinated from the University of Surrey under the direction of Professor Tim Jackson. Ian Christie is the Research Coordinator. Our partners include the University of Bath, Edinburgh University, the University of Sussex, the Institute for Fiscal Studies and Brunel University. We also work closely with non-academic partners including Peterborough City Council, the RSA and the United Nations Environment Programme.

Funding Partners

The UK government Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra).

The Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) is an UK organisation for funding research on economic and social issues.

The responsibilities of the Scottish Government  include health, education, justice, rural affairs, housing and transport.

Research Partners

The Brunel University is a public research university located in Uxbridge, London.

The Institute for Fiscal Studies is a microeconomic research institute, and specialises in UK taxation and public policy.

The University of Bath is a campus university located in Bath.

The University of Edinburgh is a public research university located in Edinburgh, the capital city of Scotland.

The University of Sussex is a public research university situated next to the East Sussex village of Falmer, within the city of Brighton and Hove.
