Salary up to £31,331 per annum pro rata
(subject to experience and qualifications)
 
Post available for 24 months
 
Applications are invited for the post of Research Fellow in Ecological Macroeconomics for 2 years.  The successful candidate will contribute to the development of a dynamic simulation model of the macro-economy under conditions of ecological constraint. Working closely with Prof Tim Jackson in CES and other European researchers, the successful applicant will help build an empirical database for the application of the model in a European context. The role forms part of the EU FP7 large-scale project Wealth, Welfare and Work for Europe. Knowledge of or experience in working with European partners would be desirable.
 
Candidates should have a higher degree (or equivalent experience) in Ecological Economics, Environmental Economics or a related subject. Experience in the use of national or international statistical databases and/or in the simulation of economic and financial systems would be highly desirable. Applicants should have a proven track record in conducting high quality research and experience of original research in their chosen field. Applicants interested in part-time working may be considered. 
 
The Centre for Environmental Strategy (CES) is an internationally-acclaimed centre of excellence on sustainable development.  We take an inter-disciplinary approach to the analysis of sustainable systems, integrating insights from environmental science and engineering as well as from the economic and social sciences. Our aim is to develop action-oriented, policy relevant responses to long-term environmental and social issues.
